Bipasha Basu seems to have sent a subtle but clear message on social media after an old video of Mrunal Thakur resurfaced online, a video where Mrunal appeared to make fun of Bipasha’s muscular physique.
On Wednesday, Bipasha took to her Instagram Story and shared a short yet powerful quote: “Strong women lift each other up.”

She didn’t stop there. In her caption, the Ajnabee star encouraged women to embrace strength, writing, “Get those muscles, beautiful ladies. We should be strong. Muscles help you attain good physical and mental health forever! Bust the age-old thought that women should not look strong or be physically strong.”

She didn’t name anyone in her post, but the timing made it hard for people to miss the connection.
The buzz started when a throwback clip of Mrunal Thakur began doing rounds on social media. In the old interview, filmed on the set of a TV show, Mrunal can be heard teasing her co-star Arjit Taneja: “Do you want to marry a girl who is manly with muscles? Go marry Bipasha. Listen, I am far better than Bipasha, ok.”
While many online users called the comments disrespectful, others suggested it may have been made in a lighthearted context years ago.
So far, Mrunal has not responded to Bipasha Basu’s post or the chatter surrounding the old video.
On the professional front, Mrunal most recently appeared alongside Ajay Devgn in ‘Son of Sardaar 2’, directed by Vijay Kumar Arora. The film also featured Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia, Sharat Saxena, Sahil Mehta, and the late Mukul Dev.
Bipasha, meanwhile, has taken a step back from acting in recent years. She welcomed her daughter, Devi Basu Singh Grover, with husband Karan Singh Grover on November 12, 2022, and has since focused on motherhood.
